You've all seen the discussion of Apple's "disappointing" $28.3 billion quarter yesterday. I've extracted just the numbers from the release and earnings call yesterday.
During the quarter Apple sold:
- 17.07 million iPhones (worth about $11 billion in revenue)
- 11.12 million iPads (worth $6.9 billion in revenue)
- 4.89 million Macs
- 6.62 million iPods
- iTunes sales of almost $1.5 billion
Totals in the market:
- iPhones sold to date: 145 million approximately
- iPads sold to date: 40 million
- iPad Touch devices sold to date: 65 million roughly
- 230 carriers in 105 countries carry the iPhone
- 500,000 apps; 18 billion downloads to date (140,000 native apps for iPad)
- 357 Apple stores globally
Other:
- $81.6 billion in cash
- Q4 revenue projection: $37 billion
- China revenue from past quarter: $4.5 billion (16% of total revenue)
